Meet the Artist

Vanessa Henderson is a mixed media painter that blurs the boundaries between fictional worlds and natural landscapes. She has a bachelor's degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After a successful 15 year design career, Vanessa transitioned from corporate life to full-time artist, and is a graduate of the Milan Art Institute. 

Inspired by post-expressionism, speculative fiction, nature, and graphic design, Vanessa’s paintings use vibrant color, texture, and mixed media materials to form expressive snapshots in time. Her work combines layered, contemporary painting techniques with influence from her design background to evoke a sense of wonder, excitement, and curiosity.

A decade of living in Seattle greatly shaped her love for landscapes and storytelling. After the pandemic, Vanessa and her family returned to Cleveland, Ohio, where she currently paints from her home studio.
